    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

how to rewire my stator for most charge for my battery

i am thinking of rewiring my stator for the most electric produce of power for charging my battery....i am placing a xenon light for nightenduro here i iceland..... has somebody done that??

and where can i get a kickstart kit for low bucks?? mi bike only has an e- start ....

Get some LEDs, you will not need more electricity, these draw very little. This one is a 24w flood, so it works like a low beam. It cost me $70 with a little button switch, no need for any relays.

You can also get a 10w with a narrow beam that functions as a high beam, about the same cost.

I rewound my stator on my '05 myself and its been running for years, you have to switch the whole bike to DC at the same time which means getting a new regulator/rectifier. If your'e not good with wiring I would just get a whole kit from trailtech.
 
these ar brilliant and very small...... brilliant for use on bikes.....no need to take the front light off just place these on the fork
 
It is possible to join your two existing charge coils forming one larger more powerful lighting coil. I have done it several times. If you are interested in trying this yourself I can walk you thru it.

Do you still need to change the rect/reg when doing it this way? I have put an HID on my bike but the stator wont keep the battery charged so i need to do something to get more output.
 
Just go for the new LED lighting. Brilliant lights, and draws no more than the OEM jobs.
