  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

How to remove throttle stop & enable the AP on a 2006 TE

How to remove throttle stop & enable the AP on a 2006 TE - discussion thread

Any input?

Links to other places are fine.
Putting up info from your hard disc is fine.
Copying stuff from other forums - not fine.

Thing is this is, and will always be, a sensitive topic. In my post on the thread on TT I posted this:
Been trying to keep pics of things like this of the Husky section of TT because it's too easy to print the pics out and use them where we don't want them used - stuff like this shows up in all sorts of undesirable places.

That is why I made a video of the 2006/7 models instead of putting up pics.

Dunno what the answer is... hey we can do anything we want on CH right? I could make it so people need to be logged in to see this section.

That ok with everyone?

Coffee, I did a pictorial on EFI (08+) throttle stop over on TT many months ago.

Was this an '08 610? I seem to get conflicting information on the 08's as some folks report that there is no throttle stop.

Oops, should have been more specific for everyone here. It's on an 08 TE510, which is the same as the 08 TE/SM 250/450/510's. Don't know about 610's as it's a different engine. You're right, not everyone had a throttle stop installed when purchased from the dealer. Mine did, a few of my friends' 450/510's did not and were purchased from same dealer. I don't know the rhyme or reason for it. Perhaps some of them had dealer install power up kit at purchase time and dealer removed throttle stop along with the installation? I installed my kit personally. :excuseme:

so the 08 te610 has no stop? seems like from closed to full open is very "short"

What is the replacement part for the shorter Thottlestop?
I've got a '07 Te250 and I think I'm ready for a bit more power.

great video by the way!

Yeah.. I would think that you could use a bit more power by now :)

This is what goes where the throttle stop was (in the top of the slide).

Or call any fine Husqvarna dealer... that is where I got mine, but that was many years ago.

Hey one more quick question. Since I purchased my bike used (even though it only had 100miles) I'm not sure what's been done. My throttle turns a bit less then 1/4 turn. Think that factory stop is still in there?

Pretty drastic difference with and without throttle stop - 1/8 turn instead of 1/4.

Could still have the throttle stop in, not sure from what you typed. Pretty simple to find out, loosen the band clamp, rotate the carb a bit, take the top off.

It is possible that the previous owner simply cut the top off the throttle stop and did not put in the actual factory replacement, many people did that.
