How to keep the dirt out of my gas tank?

I'm getting a little tired of the fuel cap on my 07 model. Not only is the lock a big nuisance, the whole thing seems to collect sand and debris which unavoidably ends up in the tank. Does anyone have a solution for this, other than "buying a real dirt bike instead of a dual sport" (advice from my dealer ) or buying an IMS tank?

not familiar with this bike, but my cap on my 09 husky pissed me off more than anything... The IMS cap starts and screws on MUCH easier... Don't know about dirt in the tank... I put an inline filter between the tank and the carb, so I don't have to be as careful about the tank.

If you can't find an acceptable cap then how about installing a drop in screen? Fits into filler neck opening, maybe you could cut it to work with stock cap? Easy to clean just pull up and out and blow out any dirt.

I looked at those. There is no specific one for Husqvarna, but I might make it work anyhow.

Those bags look: big, expensive, and messy... I don't know why anyone would even fart around with these, when an inline filter is about $2...
