Well I figured I would make this thread so others don't have to go threw the madness I did. First off I did this on my smr where I needed lights. It is much simpler without lights. Here is a list of parts needed.
1. 07 or older wiring harness, cdi, volt reg, kill switch, stator flywheel and cover
2. 07 or older carb or a carb from a post 08 carbed bike. Tc or txc.
3. 08 or newer carbed bike fuel tank
4. 08 or newer carbed bike air box boot and intake boot.
5. An EFI flywheel puller yes they are different
6. 07 or older start stop switch, or you can use the mx style but will need two.
the efi coil will not work. the reason you will need a cover is the efi stator uses 3 bolts to mount the stator to the cover. the carbed bikes use 2. you can use a stator/flywheel/cover from any year carbed bike, but i used a 07 because i wasnt sure if the newer carbed bikes stator had a different connector. also you dont need to buy a another tank. you can leave the fuel pump assembly in there and drill the hole for the petcock. if you look on the bottom of the tank there is a mark where it goes from the mold. personally i got another tank for simplicity reasons and the efi tank and pump assembly will easily pay for another tank.
