• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

1995 Husqvarna CR250
Brand new from Dealer 1995 Husqvarna CR250 2 Stroke Motorcross NOS HUSKY

This Bike was one of a few left over from a closed dealership in Casper Wyoming. It is a 1995 CR250 It has never been ridden. It never made it to the showroom floor. Decals have not even had the paper taken off of them.

Yeah...they came new from the factory with a RaceTech decal and a suspension setup sticker on the forks.

It is worth what someone will pay for it...

That being said, dealers sit on leftover bikes for years with the price marked down $50 from MSRP and wonder why they don't sell. I still see new 2008...2007...heck even some 2004 bikes at local dealers priced right around where it was when brand new (like actually new).

I have found that leftover bikes should be priced at what their used model sells for plus $1K as you get it new with a warranty - that's it. I watched a 1997 Jack Piner new KTM200 come up over and over on Ebay - they started at $15K and over the course of two years came down and down until someone bought it for around $3K and just rode it! it probably should have gone to a museum...but there just was not a market.

We were riding in WV before it was called the Hatfield system and stopped to buy some parts at a rural Kentucky moto dealer that sold KTMs. This was in 2005 and he had his initial shipment of 2002 KTMs sitting on t e floor - all six of them. At that time, new RFSs were selling for $7K - and he offered his new RFS (albeit 3 if not 4 years old) for $4K OTD. Our little band of riders bought them ALL - all six! In the issue of transparacy he had some kind of bet with his dad about selling a KTM where everyone rode quads.

We loaded six bikes on a trailer built for six bikes - that already had six bikes! Talk about the Beverly Hillbillys! Then each of us proceeded to call our wives and explain what a great deal we got! Long...ride...home...

I'd guess to the right guy about 3K. Something like that is really worth what someone will pay because there really is no reference point for cost on a new old bike. Its all about how bad someone might want something.
