  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

How many hours on your X-lite

How many hours you guys have on your X-lite engines? 310s seem sweet but I've not heard of anybody over the 100+ hours on a Xlite engine.

So who has the most??

I am sure I will be no where near the top of the list but I currently have about 50 hours on mine. This question is interesting because it has come up before. Have you heard of anyone with issues besides electrical starting and fuel injection issues. In my opinion the engine has been the one bright spot on these bike and appears to be rock solid.

yep. good post. im only on 20h and need to decide weather to stick to the maintenance to keep the warrenty.
look forward to hearing about some 100 plus hour engines with no probs

i have a 105 now and never had any issues except for the positive cable running to the battery rubbing on the frame and shorting out and killing the bike. Other than that it has been good. I have never had any metal in the oil filter or issues with fuel pump.

Have around 50 hours of mx use on my 2010 tc 250 and something went bad in bottom end might be conecting rod. Not very happy and I ran synthectic oil changed every 3 hours and I am a c vet rider not hard on motor compared to other guys. The bottom end might be there weak point if rode hard, I hope I am just unlucky and everybody else has good luck

What weight are the stock springs good for on the 2012 TXC's? What is the optimal sag settings? Did some searching and didn't see much.

My 08 TXC250 went almost 1,000hrs before any real engine issue ... I'm hoping for > 300 hrs on my 010 TC250 ...

Hmm Interesting you saying about your big end going at 50hrs I have heard other early model X-lites with the same issue. Been told you have to do the crank at 80hrs seems kind of overkill to me. I have a Husaberg 450 with 450hrs and its never been touched top or bottom. Would not be expecting the X-lite to do that hours but been a 4t I would expect around 150.

Josh at 105hrs anybody top him?

This post seems pretty irrelevant without proper context. Hours mean nothing. I could ride an X-lite for 1000 hours because I ride like an old man. On the other hand, my son, who could destroy an anvil with a rubber mallet, might get 40 or 50 hours max.

Not sure on the hours but I've covered 1370 miles on my 2010 TE250, apart from a few practise days all the miles are race miles. Oil changed every 4 hours, never had any debris in the filter, clean air filter for every race. Not touched the engine apart from oil and filter changes.

It does and does not, things like oil leaks ect can happen at any hours. Its just more to find out what sort average hrs the x-lite will take as I've goggled and can't find anything on the x-lites but a guy saying he has 160hrs on his bike and is still on this site is pretty positive.

Hmmmm.... Since my 2010 TC250 was ridden both by you and the anvil destroyer, should I be concerned?!!

2012 TE310, 12 port and TXC ECU

50 hours and about 700 miles

No problems except for the hot e-start issue. Now fixed.

Love this bike!

Basic engine is reliable except for the weak e-start system. I took one apart that was pounded for 2 enduro seasons and submerged....the crank, rod, piston, cyl, bearings and clutch were still good.
