• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Hot off the press

Just read that :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

Wish Scott the best in whatever he is doing. Seems like a step in the wrong direction but i really know nothing about the situation or whats going on so. :excuseme:

We certainly wish Scott the best in his new ventures, what ever they may be. We are grateful for the leadership and support that he has afforded both Husqvarna NA and Cafe Husky.
Good luck and don't be a stranger Scott.

Well crap!! :banghead: That's a real bummer. Scot has helped Husky a ton in the last 2 years. It's a shame to loose such an asset to the brand.

Here's wishing him well in whatever he decides to take on next. :applause:

Unfortunately for Scot and HSQ, there is a much more dire staff change needed,..........only a matter of time for that, hopefully we'll be able to wait it out.

Good luck to Scot in his next endeavor

Mere words cannot describe how I feel. The amount of respect I have for Scot and everything he has done cannot be overstated.

There are thousands of cafehusky members and in situations like this it is human nature for at least a few people to say less than positive things. If you feel a need to do that I'd appreciate posting that on other sites and not cafehusky.

edit: I was specifically referring to saying negative things about Scot. He has done tremendously good things for the Husqvarna brand.

Scot, you need some R&R, come on out, got bikes and...

Wow. I'm all for being positive but realistically I think the only thing you can take from this is negativity towards something (the bikes? the mother company?...I don't know). :excuseme:

Good luck Scot, it was good to see your insight here.

Don't think HSQ IT or the bikes pushed him away, other factors more domestic yes on top of being courted by another opportunity, but what do I know :excuseme:

Things change, opportunity arise, promises might not have happened. Could be anything. The bottom line is I can't see how this would be a good thing and was hoping Scot would be here to pull off some of the magic he did with KTM long term. We could get into a lot of speculation and rumors but might be just best to say good luck Scot the leave it there.

I imagine it has more to do with Scot being in demand rather then Husky not wanting him. But I bet BMW will be making moves to eliminate redundancies in the future.

But as for negative posts....I think this is actually a positive thing for everyone. In the long run. No need for negative thoughts

I didn't know Scot at all and even asked him in a post once who he was. Well he answered me and my question. I just hope the next guy will. Thanks Scot and good luck.
