  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Highway Dirtbike Handguards for TE 310

Thanks reveille. Paul's explanation alleviates my confusion lol.

Picked up some pillow top grips. Going to try not gluing them. Maybe they will help a little with vibration.

I'm a tad sensitive to vibes with a bunch of wrist and hand wear and tear over the years. I found that the HDB anti-vibe inserts did the trick for me.........

First set of grips had two clutch side grips in the package. At the shop we found another set packaged the same way. Got a new set with clutch and throttle side. The packaging crew must have been having a bad day.

Anyway.....

mtne thanks for the tip! I looked at them and almost included with the order. Will keep in mind for a future add.

Mike nice shot. Yes the grommets stay. Looks like you were able to get the HDB provided washer on as well. I'll take another shot at it.

Anyone got a bead on the torque figures for the Riser Bolts and the Top Clamp bolts?

Finished this up this weekend. The great guys at HDB sent longer riser bolts. Very nicely done product!

Went for a quick spin today. Cut through a park the disc golfers all stopped and waved and some thumbs up. Yeah baby, its a Husky haha.

Got a whopping 75 miles and of course 0 hours on her now. The nimbleness in slow speed turn-arounds is amazing. Wow did the wheel balancing make a difference! Engine is smoother accelerating, still sounds like a 'growling box of rocks' (to me).

Anyway, got to tweak the mirror adjustment. Need a more upward rear view. Not to crazy about drilling the guard hole as suggested. Any of you guys have a similar issue with the mirrors?

Push the mirrors forward a little after you fold them out, then rotate them up a little. Makes a big difference on mine.

I didn't drill anything either. I just run 1 HDB left hand mirror. What are we supposed to be drilling?

The last line of the install instructions: If more adjustment is desired from the mirrors it is possible to drill out the mounting hole the M5 SHCS goes through to allow more movement in the mirror to handguard joint.

Both of you guys sit higher in the saddle than I do. Since you were able to adjust to your liking I should have no problem.
