    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

High Performance water pump ...

Has anyone ever noticed the difference on the back side of the stock water pump and HP one?
You can see the stock pump on the left has a flat side and the HP one on he right is not flat and protrudes outward around the shaft mounting hole

I just also noticed the stock pump is flat but indented ... The HP pump has no indention but has the protruding stuff around the hole ... Maybe this equals out?

Does this difference effect the way the water pump seal goes on as to the depth the seal is driven on?

I'm guessing I need to drive the seal more but don't really know for sure ... Maybe to where it is flush with the back side hole it sits into in the pic below...

I'm thinking I need to drive this seal down more till the seal is flush with the ridge on that plate ...Can someone confirm?

EDIT: yeah, I just saw your WP shaft pic in another thread, man, it was bad, wish I would have read that post of yours and taken your advice, at least had the parts on hand when it happened.

Hey Ray, I guess you got your seal pushed in a little more, was your shaft worn at all. i am gonna have to replace my WP shaft I guess, here's a pick of my stock seal, and my worn shaft, if you have any tips for me, I could use 'em, I did see your nut and bolt method for seal pressing in another thread.

First, that seal is suppose to be installed flush with the plate from the word I got on the subject ...

Now, in my case with the shaft giving me the shaft because of the wear places in the shaft, I left the seal out some, about how it looks in your pic here AND filled the seal up with grease to help stop water ... So far, ~50 hrs or so, it has stopped the leak ... This might ruin the seal over time so order a new seal when you order a new shaft ....

That is ~850 hrs ... But I read where running straight water( as I was doing part of those hrs ) is hard on seal so add some sort of coolant to help lube the seal ...
