• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

High Desert Plated Dirt Bike Rides

Jeff aka BOLT

My Husky buddies told me about this great site and said I should post ride events here. We ride high desert... Apply Valley to Big Bear... Red Mountain to Piutes... Johnson Valley to Stoddard... But I haven't seen much action in the West of the Mississippi section. Is Husky Cafe's popularity more about the bikes than riding opportunities ? Just trying to feel my way around. Advise encouraged.

Thanx... Jeff

Hi Jeff. I'm new to the site also. I am definitely interested in DP rides in the High-dez I'm at B&B Cycles in Victorville and we are now a Husqvarna dealer as of this year, along with Honda and Yamaha. The Huskys are doing well for us and I want to get some dual sport rides planned for myself and for our customers. I would love to talk about it. Thanks!
Jim

Hi Jim... welcome. I'll have to stop in a check out your shop.

Hey Mr Yucca... My wife runs the Vons down in your town. Or are you a Stator Bros man like me ? :)

No riding this weekend for me. I popped a couple fingers out of socket this past weekend. Resting them this weekend. They look like fat snausages right now.

Ouch on the fingers! "Fat snausages" sure make it difficult to ride!
I learned to stay out of grocery stores, I tend buy all the really expensive stuff!

Planning a ride from Big Pine or Crab Flats before Snow covers the area. I like the 2w01 to 3n34 route.

Hi guys

I am looking for an easy Saturday ride. Tore up my hand a little so it can't be too challenging. Just a smooth ride to get out and roll along on two wheels.

Let me know... Jeff

Things have evolved a bit... I am heading to Cal City to do a little easy riding... and attend a free lunch at the HUsky being hosted by some land owning environmentalists to see what snake oil is being sold to dirt bikers. Needless to say I have a FEW questions. :D

Cool!
I burned enough diesel fuel driving to Bishop last weekend! I think I will stay close to home this weekend. Cheers:)

I love snake oil, I store it next to my perpetual motion engines. ;)
