  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Is this an upgrade for the older models 05-07? Looking for some ways to keep my engine cooler.. Im going to be road racing it and want to do as much as I can to help avoid high temps

Yes it fits 2004-2010 all DOHC motors except the 2010 250.

I had a cooling issue on my TXC 450 - saw 260 degrees on my vector. I switched out my impeller for this high flow one and switched to Evans coolant at the same time. I also added the fan from the TE with a manual switch that I turn on when warning light on the Vector tells me I'm over 190 degrees. I don't pass the 190 mark anymore unless I am going hard in tight sections, and turning on the fan will usually drop the temperature back down to a comfy 170 F temperature within a couple minutes. If you don't have a problem, ride on. If your bike gets hot, get one of these as fast as Kelly can ship it to you...

Went riding with 2 Yamahas and 5 KTM's a couple weekends ago. My Husky was one of three bikes that DIDN'T have any mechanical issues that weekend. Last spring, it seemed like my bike was the only one breaking down. It is soooo much better this way.

RE Manual switch: For under $13 you can glue a 190F thermo switch (snap disc switch) to your radiator and eliminate the manual switch. My fan comes on at 200F even, and off at 190F even, with the switch JB welded just below the radiator cap on the back side. Never went above 200F all day of trail riding, fan switch worked perfect. You can order other temps to your liking.
