• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Hi Dez H Cam rides with updates

robertaccio

Husqvarna
Pro Class
This one was 23DEC10.
We have had lots of rain down here, and riding is amazing. This was before Christmas, it was three of us on some dez single track with our French guy on the YZ250, TnT on his Kato300 with cam and me (with lower back crapped out) slower behind on my TXC450. Rode through pain so as to not miss the most excellent conditions.
More to come from after Christmas (back got better, speed came back up).

riding into the sun is the only real downfall of the vid.

That was one of the best go pro type videos, I have seen.
Thanks for sharing.
Mike

This one is from 31DEC10,
Picked up a souvenir on the trail, sharp right hander, sharp manzanita branch, soft human flesh in my forearm near my elbow. It got under my elbow pad and into my arm. Did not get into the muscle sheeth or muscle just under the skin @ 2 in. More photos to follow if anyone want to see more. (ha). End of the day anyway so it was no (DNF) issue, I rode back to camp before pulling it (it might have been a blood plug so I left it in). My lower back was good for this ride, but I ripped my new AXO jersey on that stupid bush. PS no crash just a big deflection off trail.

Okay...that doesn't look like fun.

I saw the bloody towel hanging off the bike when we got back. Wondered what it was from.

Another video
I am finally the subject of an hcam vid wooooo hooooo
http://vimeo.com/18405671

does my new axo gear make me look fat....xxl jersey with chest protector under it=fat arse....

ps i am liking those silly looking msr elefant ears, but after 3 rides they are all ready beat up
also now you can see where the manzanita splinter came from

excellent point. ive done a lot of impalement rescues. if it's of substantial size or depth do not remove the object in almost all cases. feel for pulse on object before removing from a limb or trimming. if thorax related leave it alone. trim excess if possible/safe/only if absolutely nec, sling and swath then call the chopper. i rolled up on one when the guy yanked a branch out of his upper arm. it didnt go well and turned into a bad sitch fast and i almost lost him.

Look fat? sounds like me, "karen do I look good? should I tuck it in or leave it out?"

great video, wheres that at?
Mike

me 'n rob should start a 'crash 'n burn' sub-cat in the diner maybe?
' post yer wipeouts here!' lol.

i know i know. ya know what i mean.

i deflected across the trail friday too...several times in one try. so'd trigger. :busted:

Wow, those are way gnarlier than the pictures I took of somebody last weekend that fell into a cactus patch and had to have spines plucked outa their hiney right out on the trail in front of God and everybody.:busted::lol:

Sorry, I have been sworn to not posting any of the cactus butt pictures.:D

The sound of motorcycles seems to have little effect on snakes. It's movement close to them that makes them either flee or strike.

Here is a rattlesnake in the middle of the trail. He did not like me taking his picture and fled, but not before buzzing and lashing out in my general direction.
