• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Herlings to race one 2014 AMA Nat. MX event.

He is gonna ride a 250cc bike? Please inform him RV2 is not ridding this yr so he is just about assured to move up '1 finishing spot' if he wants to ride a 4fitty....you know, race with our top riders, on our home turf ... Like our young 250cc riders do here often... He's a champion rider and can surely do such a thing.

Let him cherry pick a track for riding here ...They have a ~month off in the middle their racing season to help along this line ... We just had our week off from the racing and should be ready to go :0)

Unadilla would probably be his optimum choice for a great result.
It's an in between MX2 GP "fun run" Ukraine round is cancelled, hot practice time.
This guy is one of the most entertaining to watch, he rides so friggan hard 100% of the time.
I am looking forward to it, really wish Southwick was still a stop (shame on that closure)......Herlings is amazing in the sand, he is riding on water in the sand.

I think we'd be in trouble if Southwick was still on the schedule...

I'd expect a top three from him, but this will not be a final grade on his speed. Traveling across the world to compete for the first time is difficult with the time, food, and culture shock. He's already shown us what he can do to us on his home turf at the MXDN. This should be exciting, where ever he races, and could throw in a 'lil spoiler in the points race!

Is he gonna race a 250 or 450? Or is this just a hard question to answer?

I think there is betting in LV on MX racing ... You might find trouble there but not really sure what trouble you are talking about..

He must be the only rider in his country or something ... Because I do not see his name listed as a winner.

Those Belgium and GER flags look very similar ...

You guys got me a little interested in this young man ...

He's been a MX2 racer since 09 ... Do the EU guys not move up in class like we do over here in the States? Must have a different way of looking at racing than we do or is he a MX2 lifer?

Maybe it is a ktm thing? I mean, ktm has won every championship over there for how many yrs with the 350 guy and Herlings ...

I bet ktm pays these 2 very well and on time ...
  • 2009 2nd European Championship MX2
  • 2009 3rd Dutch Open Championship MX2
  • 2010 6th World Championship MX2 (2 GP wins, 6 podiums)
  • 2010 2nd Dutch Open Championship MX2
  • 2011 2nd World Championship MX2 (5 GP wins, 11 podiums)
  • 2011 1st Dutch Open Championship MX2
  • 2012 1st World Champion MX2[2] (9 GP wins, 13 podiums)
  • 2012 1st Dutch Open Championship MX2
  • 2013 1st World Championship MX2 (8 GP wins, 8 podiums)
  • 2013 1st Dutch Open Championship MX2 (after 6 races)
So what does the Open Championship mean? Is he riding something other than a 250 or maybe racing 450s on his 250?

Looks like 1 happy young guy here ...

Dutch ''Open" Championships means foreigners are allowed to compete
KTM just annouced he will ride MX2 next year (2015) as well
The guy has 41 gp wins now and is still 19
On sand tracks unbeatable and is getting faster on hard tracks

He's 19? I missed that ... he can do another yr or 2 on a 250 then :) ... That is awfully young to be a multiple time world champ ...

KTM has got some riders to say the least ... young future riders :0)

Up until a year or so ago there was a rule stating that a MX2 champion had one year to defend his title then he had to move up to MX1. MX2 riders have to move up at age 23 no matter what.

Since Herlings has been winning championships since he was like 17 KTM threw a fit and got the "one year to defend your championship" rule thrown out. Now MX2 riders can defend their title until they are 23.

We'll see how early he arrives in the states for practice time ... That is, if there is open practice time at these races and not just a standard, default time for all racers ...
