    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

I have just checked my valve clearance. The exhaust valve was perfect but the intake valve was at .15mm when the specs are .05mm-.10mm:mad: . The bike has about 700miles on it and I did not notice any noise change in the motor since I got the bike. When I was a kid always seemed like the valve clearance would tighten up not get loose. Could it have come from the factory this way and is it at a point where I should re-shim it(I realize I am over spec but does the husky usually loosen up or tighten up)? From what I have read here sounds like a real gem to shim these valves. Any help would be great and really appreciated!!

I wouldn't worry too much about it. You could tighten it up.

I have the TC 449 engine in my G450X which does have slightly different cams but the same valve train arrangement and the valve clearance specs for the Intakes are .020mm to .025mm or (.008 to.010) "inch. The exhaust spec for the TC is .028mm to .035mm or (.011" to .014") inch. All things considered the exhaust valve sitting on the seat a tad bit longer will help keep the exhaust valve cooler as it extracts more heat from the valve into the head.

Titanium valves are not cheap and "Del West" would be happy to sell you or Husqvarna some more.

If the bike is currently having trouble starting or has begun to have trouble starting then you feel it can be traced back to valve clearance by all means.
