  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Help With 2010 Txc250 Stator

Jayden-R

Husqvarna
B Class
I have a 2010 TXC250 and the stator is bad. It's $850 to replace and so I went to ebay and found one that looks the same for $76 but instead of saying 24/10 on the stator, it says 44/12. will this be a problem and if so what would I have to change on my bike to make it work? both stators look exactly the same except for this number.
Thank you for your time, please let me know

Jayden- I would guess that those markings are the week (or julian day) and date of manufacture. Is the new one off a 2012 or later TE or TXC?

Also, the pickup coil, which is incorporated with the stator and is more likely to fail, can be found individually a lot of times (a number of KTMs use it, but they also have the same part number as the stator)

Yes, It is the year and week of manufacture. It should work fine.

I have an extra pickup coil and stator if you don't mind wiring one together.

OK so update, I contacted the seller of the stator and the numbers are just week and year markings. seller had a 2010 stator he sold me for $100. Stator appears fine according to all tests I conducted. took a multimeter and several hours of looking for why there isn't spark. turns out now it's the plug wire and boot is bad. thank you all for your input.
