• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Help! Te 630 almost impossible to start when cold

Temp sensor is not very expensive, $30 or so. I'd also have the TPS set with iBeat when you get a chance. Could be an issue. Like setting the timing, only a bit more.

Thank you all for your help!!!
I Received a new temp sensor (the updated version) form Hall's today, installed it and....Voila!
I just touch the button and it fires and idles.Beats the hell out of cranking and goosing for 4 minutes rach time.

Also replaced my temperature sensor with updated version .
Now he starts immediately and the fan is not always on.
I also added a flashing red light when the fan is operating

Im now having problems with my temperature sensor. It measures .260 K ohms when cold, so its faulty and its the updated 8000H3649 one. Never had any starting issues, just the fan comes on randomly and sometimes stays on.
Did some tests on the Water Temperature Sensor:
Mine is working correctly and I have no issues.
I found that with the bike "cold":
The Resistance between the two prongs of the temp sensor was .690 K Ohms
The Temp indicated by Ibeat was 28'C or 82.4F
Which is what the temperature was outside today

I then started the bike and recorded the Resistance when the fan came on.
The Resistance between the two prongs was now .162 K Ohms
The Temperature on Ibeat indicated 207.5'F or 97.5'C

What this tells you is if you do not have an Ibeat- you can check the Resistance on an Ohm Meter or MultiMeter and see if yours has similar values. I had to go back and forth and there is some delay in doing this so the amounts might be off very slightly.

Hope this can be found helpful for someone,
B

about 20 degrees Celsius , normal value and about 2420 ohms .
if it indicates about 250 is definitely broken

The newer temp sensors have a different part number from the original one. Do we know if the newer ones are any more reliable than the stock version or should we start buying them in bulk quantities expecting them to fail within a couple years as well ?

I ordered the temp sensor from Husky Sport before dinner yesterday, and it arrived this morning, so another shout out to Husky Sport for their top notch service.
The bike seems to be working properly now, with the fan cutting in and out when it should, will see how long it stays this way.
I checked the "faulty" temp sensor again, and it seems to be operating correctly, so it must be intermittently faulty.
I am getting the correct 5v from the connector to the sensor.

You have this number 60302 on the new sensor code 8000H3649?

Hello rotax , hello everybody.
Please have you the link for sensor temp buy ?
My bike is difficult to cold start.
where I bought it I do not recommend it for long waiting times.
however it will not be difficult to find it from one of the top 10 sites indicated by google by entering the spare code

I have just a problem start cold.
I hesitate betwenn sensor temp ( i have the oem ) and ibeat low settings is too high..
And my screw of slow idle is too loosened
I think the pu higher the mixed

What are your ibeat settings?

How old is your battery?

If your idle is set too low it could be difficult to start.
