  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

250-500cc Help please! I need some mail sent to oz from USA.

whoa, heavy. sounds like you doin much better without the troll mate. just have faith in karma all I can say. ul get there with the bike im sure & itl last for years to come

the bike will be fine. it will run awesome if everything is right, its just a bastard year thats all. im a fairly big husky nut with piles of parts, but when i bought a 91 that was in very nice shape i kept several things for myself (the transmission, clutch, wheels). i immediately began parting the rest.. most sold quickly so these bikes are out there, just not much available. 92 and up seem way easier for some reason.

Stay strong man. I can commiserate as you know, having bought what appeared to be a decent $800 bike with some potential has now transformed into a $1500 bike that has yet to run. Makes for a purdy lawn ornament however. Especially since I got the seat recovered and the dents removed from the chamber.

Thats a hot motor, hpi has some people stumped.
Electrix and pvl have some bikes running again but think pvl is another problem child.
Shame we cant just swap entire assembly from another brand like honda or ktm.... Any one manage this?

Don't stress, we get that bike humming soon. My stator and your smoking. Looks real purty. If you got ant leftover parts let me know. Need switch blocks etc. can't be hard to find a decent jap conversion, just need a lot of research, trial and error. I want to try and put one of those auto clutches in mine, must be able to machine it to fit. Just need a close enough and will hit the machine shop.

Getting rid of that creature was the best thing ever, sadly she took me down hard. 13 years I was faithful always. My lady of almost 5 years is amazing, beautiful, smart and supportive, caring for her while she was sick was the best thing I've chosen to do..old me would have just picked up a newer reliable bike..poor me needed to build this thing from boxes of bits and have learned a lot from the process..main thing is I love these bikes..working on it is the best therapy there is. Love the 2015 models..maybe I treat myself in 2030.
