  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Help needed - I sent the parts of my husky to a repair shop, but...

Hello, folks.

I am a husky rider in Korea. But unluckily my bike was stopped.

So I sent the parts such as crank, cyl, cyl head etc to a repair shop in USA, which is rather famous.

In fact almost 7 months passed away without returning.

I called several times, he said "almost done" but it is not finished yet.

Now, I wonder what I shall do. I'm getting tired of waiting.

It is 7 months. What shall I do?

- I didn't pay yet becase he didn't let me know the total charge.

Obviously, you need your engine back. I would be very upset at 7 months down time.

It is hard to help you without more details. What shop did you send it to? What were your promised time-wise? I know you said you have not paid them, but did you give them any kind of down-payment?

Sucks you are so far away, but it seems like this shop might be using that to their advantage. How did you mail them your engine parts? Did you get any kind of confirmation they were acutally delivered? All these things could help you build your case against them.

I understand you don't want to get your friends involved in this headache, and that is considerate of you. I would be the same way, but after 7 months of the run-around, I would be desperate to use every means possible to just get it back, fixed or not!

Best of luck!

Where did you send it and are the admitting to still having the parts?
Sorry but I can not reveal the name of the company, because it can hurt the fame of it.

They have my parts still. I send lots of email, no reply.

So I called at am 4 oclock, then he said ""Almost done. Ready to ship. Let youknow the total."

But no email. Called again, then he said "because of computer problem such as virus,I cant send and receive the email"

If you are me, what would you do?

They hurt themselves ... You are the victim here ...

What state is this shop in that has your parts?

PS -- I should add that theses bikes are just an engine as any other ... Any person in your country that has the knowledge to fix a JAP bike, should be able to work on a Husky ..

ESP if you ask questions here on how to do the work ...

You are being "Dicked around". There is no reason for any shop to have your engine for 7 months. Being that I also live in Asia I understand that you don't want to involve others or give the shop a bad name. That being said, It's possible many of the readers of this forum spend money in that same shop and can make an inquiry on your behalf. You may also save someone else from going through what you are going through now.
They know you are on the other side of the planet and know that you cannot just drive over to the shop and get angry at them. You need to "light a fire" under their ass and the only way you can do that is to have someone helping you in the U.S.

Good luck... I think you'll need it if you stay on the path of just calling/emailing them and getting no answer.

Yeah, this is the USA, it is not our custom to sugar-coat bad service. As long as you are honest with your information, they can have little reason to be angry. A truthful complaint will likely get you better service.
