DsargTXC250
Husqvarna
So I bought a 08 txc 250 from a used dealer about 3 years ago. It ran pretty good until one day it started bogging and the clutch had also started to slip. It end up dying on me while riding then I kicked it for about 5 minutes trying to get it to start back up and when it did it immediately locked up no crank and couldn’t move the kickstart. I ended up letting it sit and forgetting about it until this weekend when we tore it apart and I don’t really no to much about internals and my buddy knows cars but not bikes. We got behind the clutch and spun a gear underneath the piston that was connected to the crank and ended up freeing it up. There was lots of metal but the valves piston and walls all look super clean and no damage except for the top of the piston did look all black and I didn’t know if that meant bad burn or something? We also noticed the cam chain was super tight but I didn’t know if that was a problem either. When we got all the head off and could see the crank and all the piston you could feel that the rod bearing was definitely bad by how much play but there no obvious late chumks of metal in the pan but we had been finding glitter in the oil the whole time we were de assembling. I really would like any input on anything it will help definitely. We thought that it had gernaded the bottom end but it doesn’t seem. Is it really re build able and if so what parts should I get even to just be preventive. I really live this bike and thought it was gone and I’m kinda stuck now on how to fix it.
