  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Hello, my name is Krieg and I'm a Huskyholic

Congrats on the new bike, Krieg!

This has been a fun thread to read :D

I, too, am looking forward to the weight comparisons.

Dang you, I just finished brainwashing myself this last weekend that my 250 XCF-W was the best bike in the universe. Now i'm back to wanting a 2010 250 TXC! Thanks a lot!!
I had an '08 250 XCF W. Nice bike... but... the TC will run circles around it. ;)

Yes that rings a bell....217.8. I will try and weigh my 08 CR125 tomorrow.
The weight was 99 KG out of the box, which is 218.3 Lbs. That's with oil and coolant so deduct roughly 2.5 lbs for a quart of oil and 1/2 quart of coolant so... 215.8 dry.

Looking forward to a more detailed ride report and a comparison to your TXC. Everybody I know raves about the TXC 250.

...including him! I'm curious to hear what he thinks the real world difference (2009 TXC 250 vs 2010 TC 250) is for us trail riding mortals...not racers (we know the '10 TC 250 is a MX racer)!
