• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

HEAVY SAND AND HEAVY DAY FOR LEIB AND LUPINO AT LOMMEL GP

Difficult GP for the team Husqvarna motocross at the Belgium GP of Lommel, where in the heavy send the Husqvarna Riders Leib and Lupino did not make a great race.
Lupino in the first heat crashed in the beginning of the race and DNF. In the second heat Lupino finished 18 after a bad start in 30th position.
Even a worst situation for the American Michael Leib, that had a mechanical failure in the first heat and a big crash in the second where he injured his hand. Next week end there will be the GP of Loket in Czech Rep., where Lupino will try to recover some point in the provisional standings that see him in 14th position overall.

Unfortunately rumor has it that Michael Leib has raced his final race for Team Husqvarna. :(

Maybe a business decision was made ... I'll wish him good luck either way ....

Who will replace him? Coffee might have said he had some free time .... and wanted to go to EU ...

From what his dad said, Husqvarna abruptly cut their MX2 racing budget in half and will retain Lupino for the remainder of the season.

... A little interesting .... Lupino should get some inspiration from all this action around him ....

Michael heard the news this weekend that he will not be with Husky for 2012. As for Lommel mech dnf's in qualy race and moto 1, moto 2 he stacked it up and just called it a day. His wrist is sore but hopes to be good to go this weekend. He has no practice bike anyway so he won't ride till Locket this weekend. Certainly been a tough year for the team with the bikes, the budget and Michael's injury early on. He'll be finishing the year on the bike. Looking at some good parts of the last few races he was much faster than Lupino in Latvia and Lommel having turned the 11th fastest lap in MX2 moto 2. As for letting the news out publicly before Michael knew what was happening it was certainly a crappy way to find out your not with the team.

money money money,,,,no money. spending too much in world superbike (BMW)??? sucks bad. Ricci needs a major outside sponsor the factory team thing is(was) great for tech support but a major outside the moto world advert/sponsor(s) is the key these days. Hope to see Michael continue his international career with another team perhaps, we need more US rider presence in MXGP just like MotoGP. Thanks for the post Don.

example of other team in mxgp Osbornes ride (nice machinery out there)

My bad. I read the info wrong. Michael will finish out the series but will not return next year. Thanks for the reply Don.

Who is this Nick Triest that is the supposed rider for next year?

It has been a tough year for HVA in MX2 for sure. I feel very badly about this news and how this was handled as well. He had a tough year with the concussions, trying to get his fitness back up to snuff and then being plagued by mechanical issues. Michael ABSOLUTELY has the speed to run top 10 and can improve from there. I follow Michael on facebook and this is a super positive "standup" kid and a class act. I have no doubt that his parents are very proud to have a son like him. I wish him the very best in the future and I have a feeling we will be hearing a lot more from #170.

Ciao! - Bono
