    WR = 2st Enduro & CR = 2st Cross

  • Hi everyone,

    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

    Thanks for your patience and support!

All 2st Has anyone tried an ibooster

I was reading about the ibooster spark device that is supposed to improve the bottom end, cleaner running and all that for 2 strokes. They seemed to think it was good except it didn't work on their 4 stroke test bike. Has anyone used one of these? I'd like to know what someone who actually PAID for one thinks. At around $80 I expect some results!

After seeing that ZIP-TY racing used the i-cat on their EnduroCross bikes I had to try one, but ended up going with the i-booster. I just got it and installed it on my TC250, so I haven't rode it yet, but it does seem to start better and idle smoother. If I can get a day off and some decent weather I'll get it out for a try.

My experience with the WR is that the ignition system is pretty cheesy to begin with, so I'd would think anything you can do to improve it would be worth it.

My experience with the i-cat in the past is that the cheesier the ignition system, the better they work. Like a hot-rodded XR 200 motor seemed to love it, as do most modified pit bike motors.

So, IMO the older WR's would be a good candidate for one.

I have read MANY discussion on this and it seems like snake oil to me. Will be interested in your findings.

my opinion is at $80 if it worked as well as they say...it would be on the bikes by the mfg. and they would charge you 100 + FOR IT!. Gimick for sure

Somebody needs to tell Zip-Ty they don't work.

Hey Terry, Tell your Son that they don't work. Al Baker tried passing things like this off years ago when I was sponsored. Couldn't tell the difference but he sold a bunch.

These things come along every few years with a slight twist or variation. As already said if they were any good they would be expensive and or fitted at the factory
