• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

I'm on the verge of kicking one out of my APT here .. Maybe I'll wait till race day to do it, but not sure I can wait that long ...

I weakened of course but maybe maybe scored a point ... I'm too old to swap\learn much of anything, ESP with gfs....

Best of luck to your DD MC friends ... I'm sure that will be quite a show to see there ...

That's practically in my back yard. I rode by gate #5 on my dual sport ride this past Friday when I flatted and had to change the rear tube out. I was thinking if I could make it to the track I might be able to buy an 18" tube instead of stuffing the 21" I carry. But I couldn't ride the thing on the road with a flat. It was too wollowy. Anyway, if you come out here, you got a place to stay that is 20 minutes drive/ride from the track. My house is humble but you are welcome to stay.

Plan to be at Round II. Only about 35 min from the house.

That's awfully neighborly of ya good buddy on your offer and thanks ... Maybe in a few yrs I can take you up on that visit ... There's dirt and dirt bike riding in my veins from way back ...

I've been to Washougal a couple times and watching those guys ride was a sight to see ... They are on the throttle hard or on the brake hard ... Not much in the middle and about zero rolling time for them ... Plus you can get in the pits ... Windham signed my Taskys Husqvarna hat once ... I was ~20 yr older than Kdub and felt like a 10 yr old with that moment with him ...

Being so close, you can ride the track during the year? And drop over and see other guys out there riding?

The track is a mile long? That's another pretty big contrast with the FIM stuff I'd guess ... The number of turns has easily gotta be double-digits ... Then multiply x2 for entry and exit points .. Then by 2 again for inside, outside lines ...

I do get behind some starting gates but not really a racer ....BUT, I really like riding a track like that at my speed and without many people on it, maybe only my friends ... I can ride different sections over and over without doing real laps always and be in heaven ...

Thanks for starting this thread, did not realize it was today… Will probably ride over on my TR650 and check it out, last time I went it was similar to ray rays description of the Washougal race (it was the last time Carmichael raced at hang town).

Local tv station (ch10) just interviewed a very tall rider with a mustache, had on a rockstar Husqvarna shirt…. terrible audio, could not make out what he said...

Cool race! I like the section where they rode up a bank, back down, and went through a turn. Looked like a ice sled race section. It amazes me how fast they go through the rough deep ruts and stuff.
