• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Well?

I should go, but otherwise have no plans. The last time I went was RCs last time at Hangtown, and took the bike in the Tacoma, off loaded and rode the last 10 miles in - that saved about 2+ hours getting through traffic.

Who's in? :)

I wish I could be there to see my favorite new racer Justin Barcia!!! Remember what he did there last year? (or almost did). Can't wait to see him this season. MX is way better than SX!!!

Take pics if you go.

Yes I'll take pictures.

Hangtown is interesting, at least it was the other time I went. The riders cross paths with the spectators as I recall. Allesi, and a few others were all within 20' of me.

I will probably go, and probably be wearing some type of cafehusky item, back pack & camera. Oddly enough it appears it will be chilly. Weird weather.

Chilly? at Hangtown? When we went a few years back I think it was about 154 degrees!

Is it this weekend ? Funny I should have to ask that, I used to go every year religously
when I was growing up (in my MX days). My idle back then was "Magoo". Dude was a nut !
Maybe I go for a ride and check it out. Don't have a ticket though.

Tomorrows race will have tribute to Danny Chandler at noon. This is the same track that held his benefit race in 1986.
I will be cheering on a local racer #885 Jeff Mann Jr. in the 250 class, his parents own the Oasis track in Clear Lake.

You can buy a ticket at the gate. $40

At the moment it is about 54 degrees, blustery, and sprinkling.

Good info. Here is the hang town site:
http://www.hangtownmx.com/

It appears Thursday, Friday, Sunday are for amateurs and Saturday is the pros. [STRIKE]Rumor has it some of the pros may go to a track in San Jose on Sunday.[/STRIKE]

edit: I was wrong about the San Jose pro riding thing...

My bike is all tuned up ready for that last 10 miles to the race track, new battery is awesome (more on that later).

I will try to take pics of:

Justin Barcia
#885 Jeff Mann Jr. in the 250 class
Some dude on a Husqvarna :)
Any others you want pics of?

Also track down Picklito if possible.

All you that are going, be sure to get pics of any Huskys you see. We made Infineon last Sat. but the only Husky we saw was an '09 TE 450 in the Leo Vince booth. It was sporting a real nice LV dual exhaust system though.

Brilliant pics ! I like those helmet cams. It's amazing
how many advertisements they're able to cram on one man's bike and
gear these days. I'm not knocking it, I'm just amazed.
