  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

All 2st Handlebar Vibration Woes

Well,

It just might be time for you to join the WR125 band wagon and 144 kit!

I have to admit it is a fun bike. Feels like I am playing on a mini but fullsize.

Mine said, I don't understand why you need another bike! I said I don't understand why you have 9 horses!

I know where one (08 CR125) is hiding!

I think it would be fun to ride a 125. I think it would suck to race a 125. And I think it would really suck to have to do top end jobs on a 125. Easy, but much more frequent than a 250.

You are correct about the ringing part. You'll have to ride my 125. Let me know when you guys go riding in Illinois some time and will try and catch up to ya!

Anyone try Vibranator inserts? 30 day money back guarantee. I bought a pair and will report back when I get them. I got 20% off using advrider code.

sounds interesting !

How do you know its the vibration that is puttting your hands to sleep?

if you dont wish to go the fuel line route ya can fill the bar with clear or colored slicone from a large tube like they sell at home depot. it is permanent as opposed to the fuel line thingy but it works on a decent range of vibes (2-cycle buzz mostly). it damps the "spring" and inhearent resonation in steel tubing. allum bars dont do this as much as allum is 'dead' and resonates a whole lot less.

ymmv.

I had a race today and tried my filled bar setup. Wow, it works. I used the BuzzKill product. I'm sure it's just repackaged something, looks like some kind of heavy viscous silicone. Any way half way through the race, I realize I'm not having the hand issues I normally have. I'd say my bars vibrate more like my 4 strokes now. Still there, not nearly as bad though. I was able to ride the whole race without having my hands fall asleep or shaking them back too life. Good stuff.

yep- filling the bar with goop is an old scholl two-smoker trick i picked up from a mag or somebody back in the early 80's i think...it works great on killing the buzz.
