• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

I bet it was a great day....sooo bummed I missed out. (An unplanned trip to Arizona...without my Husky!). We should totally meet up for some riding! And I would love to compare notes about the bikes.

I will definately keep you posted on here...Rocky and I have been discussing diffrent ride options...it looks like we won't do a ride in July (to many people on vacation elsewhere) but we might do a night desert ride in August...High Desert thru Joshua Tree Nat'l Park maybe...something fun!

Zipped around the desert first light last Sunday before the deserts heat reached into the 105 deg. Explored a few new trails! Looking to explore some additional trails this Saturday 8/24. Any Locals up for a quick morning adventure?

Ok. I've been Pioneertown to Big Bear, and I've ridden the Johnson Valley area. So where would that be from say Camp Rock Road, Soggy Dry Lake, Anderson??? Thanks...

I would be happy to show you the route sometime?

Easy Route is New Dixie Mine Road from Landers. About 6.4 Miles up the road make a right.
More technical route from Giant Rock Landers area Mikiski Blvd will run you up into a trail system that runs along the base of hills, cant miss the only jeep road that will also take you up.
Rattlesnake Canyon I heard was closed on some 4x4 forums. I have not tried?
From Burns Canyon the trail is technical with lost of Rocks.

Old Camp marked on the Map you have to hike about a 1/4 mile from the wash. Interesting History.

Followed another BML designated Route Marker today. Took me to a place with a great view.

Soggy Dry in the distance. In fact you can see most of the entire Johnson OHV Area from this location.

Test the Panoramic view on CH
