  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

grips

I gripe all the time. I wouldn't recommend it. People tend to like you less. :D

Grips? I dunno. I just buy whatever is on the rack. I'm not picky. I just replaced the stock grips with some Scotts a couple months ago.

I've been using Pro Taper Pillow Top grips for years. They helped me a lot with arm pump and hands falling asleep etc. They don't last long because they are very soft, but the comfort is worth it.

Spider grips work well.

When I bought my WR, it had a pair of Serfas on it. Very soft, kind of like pillow top pattern. They look quite a bit like the Spiders. They had some wear, but could have gone some more miles. I put some Renthal on it, not sure I like them as well. I've searched Serfas online, but only found grips for bicycles.

I like the Odi Cush motocross model. Very easy on the hands, dampens vibration and seem to be holding up well. They just seem sort of hard to find.

I just picked up some of the originals husky grips from my local dealer the other day. They were $28. I felt like I was raped when I left. Is this a normal price for these? Trying to support the little guy but don't want to go broke doing it.

Renthal Half Waffle, Soft

Avoid the Date Rape and go here http://www.g2ergo.com/dirt-bike-g2-ergonomics-products-1/domino-dirt-grips.html They dont say "Husqvarna" but your friends wont know the difference.

I recently swaped my worn dominos for some pro taper pillow tops....my fands fall asleep just looking at the bike now. I have had hand issues before but typicaly at the end of real long motos. I rode a scramble saturday and did a long hard trail ride sunday, hands where asleep most of the time both rides, and this morning my left hand fell asleep while putting shampoo in my hair???? I am ditching those pro taper grips asap!! Probably going to try some different domino compounds.

What kind do you guys recommend . Have a 2007 te 510 do a lot of trail riding. Thanks

The stock ones are good. I once bought some fatter, thicker grips and hated them. I have some pro taper now like them.

Do a lot of trail riding and any other kind of riding :D

my main gripe is cam decomp lobe. needs done about 5yr old depending on mileage. battery needs to be great nick or high output.

grips on the other hand, pillow tops...or sticky ass 80's BMX ones. mushrooms. (genuine, not copy crap).

Sorry, guys, but I edited the title to say grips instead of gripes :)
I saw the "gripes" thread title this morning and thought "Oh no, someone's having troubles..."

I'm pretty picky about grips, usually, and I like the Spiders, but I've been really pleased with the stockers on both my 610 and my 144. I dig the red
"Husqvarna" on the black. The ones on my 610 didn't last that long but I'm pretty sure my nuclear meltdown style grip heaters had something to do with that.
