• Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Sweden - About 1988 and older

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Green Sticker for Vintage Bike (Calif)

Walt Hastings

Husqvarna
B Class
Looking for info regarding getting a green sticker for my newly acquired 72 CR450 in Calif.
All I have is a Bill of Sale from the seller. The bike has never been registered and all of my local riding areas require a green sticker as they are public lands.

frist Go to the DMV and tell them you lost the paperwork. They will give you the forms-one of them will be a Statement of Facts. you will need to have a Peace Officer verify the vin on the frame and engine. you do not need the Highway Patrol-any Officer can do this. Return to the DMV and they will issue you a new sticker. If you want you can Plate it. I have a Plate for my DKW but I keep it non-op because a plate requires insurance. You will pay sales tax on the amount you declare that you paid for it. Act accordingly.

I was able to have the vin and engine numbers verified at the California DMV.
I made an appointment and advised them when I got their, I needed vin verification.
They did that first and then I went back inside to finish the registration.
Took a total of about an hour. Walked out with a green sticker and the pink slip
came in he mail about 2 weeks later.
On the "Statement of Facts", I told them I built my bike from junk parts I had lying around and other parts I bought on Ebay. They didn't seem to care where it came from. They just wanted me to declare the value so they could charge sales tax. I told them I thought it was worth about $150.00.

Great! Thanks for the info gentlemen!
BTW Ron, your Husky is beautiful! Is it a 75 GP MAG 250??

Here's a few photos of my CR450:love:
