• Hi everyone,

    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Test rode a brand new Beta 450RR Race version...super nice machine, absolutely beautiful.......rolling back to our parking zone casually... it happened, I guess I hit a rock because I was on the ground about 15 ft in front of the bike before I knew what happened. I think the rear got kicked out and just high sided me right off. Stupid and embarassing, I have not slammed that hard in while, my wrist is fff'd looks like a sausage and got a super charlie horse hip.
I did not even tell my crew I was so pissed off and we went out for another ride (TE300) but I had to quit. I came clean this morn with one of my crew, zero marks on the Beta, maybe a little grip scuff thats it. Im more pissed that next weekend we have another invite marked ribbon ride...that I dont think I will be riding. I guess me not buying that Beta 300RR was the issue karma- beta karma....."I'LL be back asap" dont think its broken, but may have an xray look to check the infamous navicular which Ive cracked 2 times before---while playing soccer...yes soccer not from moto.
 
Yikes!

I hit some gravel at 50mph yesterday on my 511 with supermoto wheels, it went completely sideways and then straightened itself out. I was amazed. It can happen so damn fast!

Glad I have a bike with a super long swingarm I guess?
 
ahh so you didnt buy that beta family 300rr did ya..........beta family revenge.
just got 3 and 3 xrays 3 hand 3 wrist,,,,,at a glance they look pretty good to me...but im only good to see destroyed stuff... doc will review asap. ps i really need to relinquish my guilt ...i did not even tell the owner that i dropped his new machine.....i watched him drop it a few times during our trail ride, so its not too bad. just in case ... this is the bike....what a beaut, just strikingly nice looking.

Riding buddy hit something a couple months ago that caught his foot and broke the tibia in two spots. Lots of pain,pins and pain killers. Out of action for min of 6mths. I have been lucky so far.

That sounds just like how I broke my humerus skiing, casual traverse, then shoulder plant and face full of snow.....stunned I was.

Good luck healing. Painfully slow for me, at least seems that way....no cast but aches constantly....@ 9 weeks.

No that is bad. I'd tell you do go do confession but you'd probably burn when you walk into the church lol ;)

scafoid fracture....navicular,,, i think this is the third time maybe only second, but at least 2 times on my left hand. good thing when i was a kid i fell on a broken milk bottle and severed all kinds of nerves in my wrist up into to my thumb area, along with the artery (not so good) so its always a numbed out region, permanant novacaine spot, less pain.
