  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Got my first real ride in on my TE 310!!

I recently picked up a brand new 2012 leftover Husky TE 310, I'm in Northwestern Pa so the weather hasn't been to great. Anyways the stars aligned and I got to ride all day yesterday, not a cloud in the sky and 50 degrees, which seems warm compared to much of our winter being in the negatives. I have been riding bikes a long time and I have never had so much fun on a dirtbike before. I have some old shale pits in my area that I went to that has some pretty decent sized jumps and this machine feels incredible in the air. I was surprised how light and flickable it is and how well balanced it is. Handling is top notch and overall the bike is very confidence inspiring. There is one jump on the way to the shale pit that you have to go around this bowl and jump off an embankment and land on top of a built up stone road so if you came up short it'd be like casing a rock and the Husky flew right over it. Very pumped I got this bike. I got a Rekluse coming for it hopefully today and probably in the next week or so going to send the forks out to Pro Action to get them stiffened up a bit. Looking forward to this summer for sure!!

Nice! I installed a Rekluse 3.0 over winter and I finally got a good 2 days of trail riding on it and man, freakin loving it with the Rekluse. I went to Loretta Lynns for the MTDR event this past weekend. Fuuuuun trails!

Rekluse came in today!! Hopefully going to install it tonight granted I don't get home from work too late. Pretty excited to try it out. I've never even ridden a bike with an auto clutch before.

Nice! I just got a 14' on Friday. Feel the same way about suspension and lightness but my engine is really underwhelming. Did you do power up kit?

My te250 is the first bike I've ridden with a rekluse. You're going to love it :). At first I really liked it but if it weren't already on the bike I wouldn't have bought one. Then after a couple hours I couldn't imagine not having it.

My 2014 TE310R with power up was the opposite; too responsive- like a light switch. Thank's to the kind people on this forum for sharing the information on the G2 throttle tamer it is much easier to ride. I am a lot faster with the more controlled throttle.
Secondly, look close at that oil line on the kick-starter side of the engine. Cheap insurance to add some safety wire to keep it from coming loose. I would hate to see anyone seize their engine like I did at only 36 miles! I am blessed that our dealer, (Upstate Cycle), in SC is a great one- they stood behind the sale and fixed everything at no charge.

Love my G2 dirt tamer throttle tube. It works especially good in the fast whoops for me. It keeps me from looping the bike on top of me. Worth the $50 IMO

I installed the power up kit on mine. Went with the 48 rear sprocket. I also ordered a dirt tamer to smooth out the low end throttle response. I love the way the bike runs. I heard a lot of guys on here getting the TXC injector and ecu and installing it and I was really close to make the purchase but there is no guarantee the bike will run right without resetting the tps which there are no dealers within 3 hours of me so I opted to not chance it but honestly I haven't ran into a situation yet that I'm lacking power anywhere and if I am just a couple blips of the clutch lever and its back on top so I'm thinking I'm just going to leave it as is. I may opt to get a slip on in the future but I think after I get this clutch installed and the suspension set up for my riding style this bike will be perfect for me. The Rekluse unit I bought used and the original owner had red springs installed instead of the 3 silver and 3 red. Can anyone tell me what the difference is? They say the engagement is harder but what exactly does that mean?

Also found a really cool graphic kit that I have coming for it. Will post some pics when I get them and looking to pull the trigger on a GoPro so I can share some of my riding spots and the TE in action!!

Right on Dave, can't wait to get mine set up. Ordered TXC filter frame and velocity stack, installing this weekend when I remove CAT, then to the dealer for remap!

Got to ride my first 2012 TE310, . Loved it. Now i gotta figure out where i can get the money for one of them there 310s.
