good mud tire???

The guys in Michigan swear by the S12 or the Starcross - they always have to deal with that wet topsoil stuff for months while the spring (summer) thaw occurs.

We dont have dirt here - just rocks...so I dont really ever have to deal with it.

I use Mitas C19 Cross Country (yellow) - front, Mitas C18 Super Light (green) - rear. Grip in soft terrain is better, than my previous Michelin Enduro Competition IV + IIIe and Dunlop MX51.

I always use S12 on the front and until recently the rear too, just changed to MS3 as hoping it will be slightly harder wearing. Few rides in and very pleased with the MS3, good grip on a variety of conditions including mud, hard pack is a bit slippery but then most tyres which are good in the mud are.

How is the durability of the MS3? I LOVE the S12 - my favorite tires for sure, but the Ozarks are just too hard on them. We would have guys come for Blackjack events and ruin a set (front and rear) in one long course event. That gets to be a spendy hobby if you swap tires every ride!

I'm a big fan of the S12XC's ( one up fron the regular S12's) , but these look new M12XC's

Another vote for the IRC M5B (Rear). MZ Terrapactor front works good on just about everything.

Can't really say much about wear but have done 4 hours racing on intermediate ground and still good, slight wear on leading edge. S12's would be showing definite signs of wear by now. I too love the S12 but used them in anything but mud and grass and they will disintegrate pretty quick.

We race Hare Scrambles and Enduros in WI, IL and IN.
