• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

TE/TC Good Luck Finding 2021 2t Bikes

What surprises me is that we aren't hearing anything about this proposed legislation in the media. You'd think they'd be all over a story like this......

The media is owned by the people who who want to remove dirt biking from people's choices of fun and freedom. There are lots of things that we don't get to hear about in the news....until it's too late. But I digress, that is another story that doesn't need to be discussed right here. Or maybe it does.

So, I got a call today from Utah... I'm still hoping for a local solution, but if not looks like a little road trip is in order soon. Waiting to hear back from my inside sources before I go for it.

I got the intel I was waiting for! Just plopped down a deposit on a Beta 200RR Race Edition with a way shorter drive!!! I can also get a 250 fairly close too! Should I just get both?

Absolutely. I mean they’re practically unobtainium right now. That’s in itself is all the justification needed Haha. Everything is selling like crazy right now. Keep us posted with a write up on either or both whichever way you go.

That is correct 2021 is the last year. DMV is giving red stickers to 2022's but the word on the street is that DMV does not have their arms wrapped around this and they will be recalling the red stickers on the 2022. I am not sure if the competition "pass" will actually go through.

when you say the DMV not wrapped around, are they thinking nothing or some pseudo green sticker???

So, CARB decided to sunset the red sticker program in 2021. The whole idea initially was to restrict the use of "non-compliant" bikes used for competition by taking April-October away hoping that it would slow sales. Well that backfired so they decided to just make it impossible to register them by killing the program. Meanwhile in Sacramento, some legislation has been introduced to direct the DMV to issue the competition only permit, but unless it's something to screw the public, the state legislature is basically useless and has done nothing. So the dealers are still selling bikes, but there is no way to register them.

ahhhhh, so a lot of bikes that can't be registered to ride
Cali bs for sure
they hate you having fun more than your possible emissions

Yes they do! Especially if we go away from their precious cities that they've turned into criminal paradise to recreate. Just waiting for the day I need a passport to get to Vegas.

This is just another thing to a long list of reasons I finally escaped California this year after living there my whole life. Wyoming has got to be one of the most ohv friendly states around. OHV stickers are $15 a year and are the same sticker for bikes, quads, side by sides or anything else you can imagine that you would go off-road in. I just continue to shake my head at what California finds to be a problem and then to think, what’s next?
