• Hi everyone,

    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Well, the race has been in the books for about a month now, but finally got around to look at the footage that I got from my GoPro helmet mounted camera. The picture was great until I got to the 2nd corner, then I lost a good 20 minutes of the race 'cause of a piece of mud. Guess I should work on my starts more. There are few other Husky riders in there that pop in very briefly. Also noticed that I wasn't the only guy with problems on the track. Only snippets of the race where put in so it's not too long to watch, plus the camera died near the end, but my girlfriend still got some footage with her camera. Enjoy!!

Nice. How are you liking the TC?

- I mount my Gopro to the front of my chin protector, well balanced and EZ to wipe off the mud which you get in the habit of doing.
 
I love the TC!! The only issue is the electrical. Something in there is shorting out and drains the battery. We are trying different ideas to get it fixed and so far we are not 100%. But other than that, it's great. I tried a WR300 and a WR150 this weekend. Both we great but the 300 felt tall. I was very impressed with the 150, that thing was wicked in the bush. If I where to get a new one, I would still get the TC449, the power is awesome!
 
How did you like the TC for the GNCC? I did the Steele Creek GNCC two weeks ago on my 2010 WR 300 in the Vet A class. It seems to wear me out a little faster than riding the 4-strokes. Although it could have been the 12 miles of whooped out trail too. ;) Im really interested in getting a 449 and my WR may have to go.
 
Well, I run slightly smaller rear sprocket so it's a little smoother than stock. That, for River Ranch circuit was great. No fussing around with the shifting, and the one big mud hole I saw, didn't even look for a line to take, it just made one. Plowed right through, no hesitation. I have to admit that I'm not 100% in top shape, so by the end of the 2+ hours, it was getting heavy. Of course I hadn't changed the suspension setup from MX, so it's the bumping around that got me tired. On the other hand, some sections of whooped trail where I did have energy, it's was perfect and I made up alot of time. Electric start, when it works, I love it. Sure beats trying to kick start on an incline or a mud hole, especially when you are tired. I plan on doing both cross-country and mx this summer, so I think the 449 is perfect for me. But if I was doing only cross-country like the one in Florida, I'd opt for the 310. Still got lots of power and it's a little lighter. Keep in mind that I rode the Trairider class, and will most likely compete in the junior category from now on. Hope this was of help!!
 
Rollin, great info. We seem to share the same desire. I have been a moto guy my entire life until last year I did 3 GNCC's. I plan on doing maybe 4 or so this year, but I still moto most of the time. I need one bike that will do both pretty well. It's amazing how short a 7 lap motocross seems after you do a few 3+ hour GNCC's.
