• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Too bad for Glen, he was a class act at the Husky Tent on Saturday.
He had some time to talk with us and was generous with information on the mods to his race bike.
We had a great weekend, weather held for the most part, drive down and back was easy.
My son rode Schoolboy 125 (which we've come to find out is a class with lots of talent) out of 50 riders entered he got 4 laps in and finished 18th. He had a good ride, the 125 ran great, rode up every hill without frying the clutch (which saves the BANK OF DAD some $)
I had a better than average (for me anyway) start in 50+B/C of about 5th place, picked some good lines on the 1st lap and came around in 2nd. Then I made a mistake on one to the big hills in the woods and had to take a second run. That cost me 2 positions and I finished 4th.
I'll take 1 beer please sir!
We may make the drive down to Iron Man we had such a good time.

I wish I made it over, but getting a lot done at home this past Sunday insures being able to ride Wayne County Enduro 9/27. Congrats on the great rides!

I got to meet Joe as the ever faith husky rider sought me out when I was on the start line. He was nice enough to adjust my clutch while there and take care of that slippage problem. Still don't know if a 125 is the right bike for me but I was amazed at how well it would chug up those steep little hills. On the first lap I got stuck in several hill choke points. You know the drill clog halfway up riders stopped, wheels spining, clouds of blue smoke. first one must have had 50 riders waiting and flailing. Every time I would wind it up and start fanning the clutch and the little bugger would just claw its way up. The new pirelli mid soft 32 on the back certainly helped but I thought the back tire would just light up and I'd be flailing around. It would hook right up and claw its way up. and with the proper run up, hills weren't an issue. I finished 21 out of 37 super senior C (45+) starts. I got stuck/held up on 4 different hills. two were clogged with riders when I got there, one was bad line selection on my part and then getting boxed in and the fourth was attempting a hill w/out the rpms up where they should be ... at one point i came around a sharp up hill sweeper and some crazy guy was standing there flailing his arms screaming something about Husky's. It was our man Joe cheering on the Husky contingent. That was a nice little lift ... "what the hell?? Oh its Joe! Heeeeyyy!!! I saw (passed, and got passed by) several huskies when running the morning race. there was an older yellow two stroke, another red and white 125 I think and a red and white thumper, 450 I think. I saw a couple of newer 2t in the afternoon classes. A wr 125 #153 I think and another one, #736 or something like that.

At one point before the race I went down to the factory connection van (they did my suspension) which was parked on vendor row right across from the husky van set up on pit row. As I rolled up I noticed the guys over at the husky van turned and gave my bike the once over. I should have rode over and asked for some clutch adjusting advice!! You know you ride a rare bike when you attend a national off road event and your bike catches the eye of said companies national riders pit crew! "hey look! theres one!" Do you think any ktm pit crew gave an old fart ridng by on a ktm a second look!! Hell they'd never get anything done if they did!! I hope Husky gets it figured out. Judging from the size of the race vans/transporters I'd say there is room for growth.

OK gonna post some pics

Lets start on a high note........Heh -hee

Good Deal Scrambler, make sure your group stops at Duty Free for Beer on the way to Iron Man. We'll more than likely have our U.S. buddies stop by for one or two at the Saturday nite campfires.
Look for us with the SicAss Racing Van in Indiana, my Toyota Tundra and Grey Pace trailer will be there close by.

Thanks Joe!
Number 763 is my son Eric on his 08 CR125 (Schoolboy 200 C class) Number 671 on the 250 is me, Steve, (50+B/C class).

Neat, didn't know the Wolf was there. Would have liked to meet and talk with him.
Oh well, maybe he'll be at the Iron Man.

Joe, I owe you a Canadian beer or three for the pictures!
Thanks again

He was leading for a little while...
Then a broken throttle
No stickers either :censored:

I believe the lack of stickers was an oversight. They may have some at the next races, talk to Wyatt, preferably when he is not super busy doing other things.

Nice guy :)

This 221 a friend of yours?

hmm sounds like something isn't working right....
When I click the links I get various pics of morning husky racers
No #221
I assume your getting the same pic in all the links??

Oh well I made the effort

I vote we pitch in a dollar each to buy "unknown guy" #2 some new riding gear. Not just because the green/yellow hurts the eyes but also hes' "representin" Husqvarna !

Thats ol' Benny Bouwens, a 23 year old who just chases a local series. I posted the original post from Unadilla on vitalmx.com about him and posted another post from the Power Line Park race, http://www.vitalmx.com/forums/MotoRelated,20/Almost-did-it-again-at-Power-Line-Park-GNCC,663734 . I'd love to see him give the whole series a shot next season. He does it all completly on his own and a bone stock bike! I'm on the Husky band wagon too, but you can't help but dig the kid no matter what bike he's on!
