• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Anyone running one? I just got off the phone a while ago with the owner, he wants a steering damper and I have wanted one of his bags for a while. Not really needed until next spring but the trade deal is now so... looks like one is on the way. Heard nothing but great things about them from a good friend who has one.

Carries the weight low and near the middle as possible. These guys do crazy cool rides out of a local area (Bend) and hope to join in on the fun next year.

Yes, I have one on my 610 and I really like it. It holds a ton of stuff.
My only quibble is htat they didn't put heat shielding on the left side to save a few sheckels.

The tank bag is really nice as well.

I've got one of the first generation bags for my KTM but haven't mounted it yet. I plan on testing it out over Thanksgiving in Nevada. I like the new Great Basin bag because it's waterproof, but it might be too big for regular dirt bikes. I think it's more for the 950 Adventures, KLR's and such? Is that a Great Basin on your bike, Xymotic?

I, too, would really like to take a ride with the owner. He's the one that inspired me to get out to southeast OR and northwest NV

i have the new 'coyote' which is the smaller one, with removable hardware, and it's waterproof. i think the great basin would be huge on a dirt bike. strictly for the gs crowd

if you've never mounted it maybe they'll let you upgrade???

The 'coyote' is the one he is sending me. They are also working on a smaller model that just holds tools and 2 gas bottles or whatever. More of a day pack type setup. I will be getting the testing one of those when they are available.

xymotic - thats a cool first picture.

GL bags

I bought the original GL bag for my '08 450 KTM. While it did the job, and holds a lot of stuff, it's a pain to get on and off since its a bolt on unit. Six bolts held it on. Plus it wasn't very water proof. I sold it and got the GL Coyote bag which is billed as water proof, holds the same amount, and is quick detach. Same heavy duty construction. Two clips hold it onto the rear fender and 2 straps hold it onto the frame in front. Seems like a very solid mounting method. I like it a lot better, but have not had a chance to try it out yet. I'm afraid that'll have to wait till spring now.
