• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Getting some racing in!

youre a racing machine Norm. respect. love that youre still ripping around on 2Ts & small bore at that! hope you guys realise how lucky you are to have all the racing options you do. we lucky to have one a month for 6 months of the year. so jealous. hare scrambles my bag, love the long races for seat time & to see how far I can push myself.

can I ask what a typical event cost you to enter(before fuel/oil etc) as in to get a 1 day race licence, club licence & event entry fee? ours here are around $150-$170!

one day club licence(must be a specific club member for most events) around $20-$30
one day race licence(Motorcycling Australias cut) around $50-$60
event entry/supps around $70-$80
plus transponder hire $10 & bracket for holding it(buy once) $10. this is probably a cheaper priced event too!

I understand insurance isn't cheap not to mention track marking/set up/volunteers etc but damn its getting expensive to race here. factor in food, fuel to get there, bike fuel/spares/repairs & its over $250-$300 for the day. hence why I dislike the shorter seat time races. want value for money so minimum 4 hours ride time what I want.

sorry for partial derailment Norm just curious as to what racing costs across the other side of the world:cheers:
