  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Gas tank question

A Class
2013 TE 449. I went for a ride today , started withe a full tank . 50 miles in fuel light goes on . I can see that the clear front tank was half full . Went to go fill it up and it only took a half gallon. The front clear tank still wasn't full . Both of the tanks fuel knobs are turned to the left which I believe is open . Am I missing something here? I don't have my manual with me on this trip

Make sure the vent line back by the filler cap isn't kinked, and the check valve is not clogged and works properly. The rear tank just gravity feeds to the front tank so it needs to vent correctly. With the seat removed this is pretty easy to check.

Make sure feeder line to front tank is not kinked as well. I would also exercise the tank knobs to make sure there isn't debris in them. The fuel pump pickup is where the fuel filter is so if something does flow through, it shouldn't be a cause for alarm.

We have had the vent lines plug up with dirt when racing them. I run my vent line to my air box instead of running it to the ground.

Thanks for the replies . The feeder line from the top tank to the lower tank was partially kinked , so I was draining the lower tank which is what caused the fuel light to come on ,while still having gas in the top tank . I re routed the line so it didn't have as much of a bend . Should be good to go . Thanks again .By the way , I am ordering the Zipty gas cap today , I am sick of wrestling with the stock one
