• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Gas Gas to aquire Italian Husqvarna engines 2T and 4T

If nothing else, someone is gonna continue to manufacture parts ...Maybe SP did not want that baggage? ...

SP the Juggernaut is still airborne but I'm not sure of his angle of approach now ... He may have just released more hounds on his trail ...

And it sort of appears ~100% that he wanted the brand name only at this point ...

Very interesting. Makes me wonder if KTM is planning on providing parts or if they will send us over to Gas Gas for engine related parts. Either way, affordable parts should be available for some time with this move. Now I really am tempted to get the white blue yellow graphics just to get under their skin... Could SP be any more obvious about his hatred towards the Italians?:busted:

Its not hate... Its business ... Why keep that technology if you can sell it for cold $ ... I just can't believe gas-gas has much to spend but who knows?

Its a feast on ITL technology ... Served up by bmw with SP as middle man. Open the doors and welcome a new Husky cousin.

Before you get all full of yourself. here's a quote from Terry Cunningham (top husky racer in the 80's) about the transition from Swedish Husky to Cagiva in the US... SP wasn't the first, to show arrogance in this long saga. I like the part about having Terry road race, Ducatis I assume. Talk about not understanding the US Husky customer...

Cagiva actually bought Husqvarna in 1985 and then they really didn't do anything until '87 when they started making Husqvarna a part of their company. They came in and said that they weren't going to change anything. They were going to keep all of the same people and do all of the same things and Husky would go along as it was in the past. But, that wasn't the case. By the time '88 rolled around there were only two of us left from the original Husqvarna clan. They told me that they wanted me to road race and/or run the off-road program. They didn't want me to race (off-road) anymore. I didn't feel it was time for me to quit racing yet. So, that's when I switched to Kawasaki in '89. I had gotten off to a good start in '89, but then I twisted my knee at a National Enduro in Michigan. That kept me out of action for a few weeks and it hurt me for the Championship that season.

Seems we have a long history of being taken for granted. SP is just the latest story.

Its just a business story that was been replayed over and over and will continue to be played over and over till death ... Businesses play us every day ... Its nothing new in my life anyway ...

If so, then CafeGasgas has just been born.
They are just a cousin... 1st cousin and Coffee has this already mapped out ...

OK ... Lets bring back all the employees from that factory that got laid off by SP; give them a pay raise and new gasgas coveralls?

If this twist happens, SP can put on a white hat ...
With higher unemployment in Spain, than in Italy... Spanish Government didn't just give GG a wad of Euros, to put Italians back to work!

Hmm, this is interesting. Wonder if we'll see right side driven, six speed GASGAS 250 / 300 two strokes?

I'm not sure why just yet, but in some weird manner, this feels sort of like some degree of separation from ktm... And it is not really... Must be some kind of hidden SP effect. Feels like he let our people go...
