  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

G2 Ergonomics throttle,ride report.

Husqvarna
I ride a 2006 510TE dual sport in S.A.
Took a ride Sunday with G2 throttle fitted,400 cam installed(mildest one).
I gotta say, this is the best money I ever spent on my Husky.
Not one dreaded"back spit"the whole day(300km in the bush).
My bike is geared tall 14:43 and always seemed"empty"of torque below 4000rpm.
Incredibly it has now got real thumper feel, low down.
I am even riding it different, grunting out of corners instead of revving and spinning.

The only explanation I can think of is that the slower cam has caused the acceleration pump spray to be more in tune/aligned with the gradual increase in venturi velocity, almost as if she can digest the spray far better now, with better bi-furcation of the charge at lower RPM.
On bumpy, tufty grass with small throttle openings it is SO much smoother, small jerks of your hand don't cause sudden leaps forward or backfires,it just pulls smooth.
Even power slides at speed on hard packed sand roads feel safer and more progressive.

I run a .45 bowl jet with full duration spray-no B.K. or O-ring mods.
The motor just feels so happy and the last quarter "whack" sure is something-power wheelies deluxe.

It is a real well made thing too, easy to fit, just had to take up some slack on the pull cable.

It is so good, such a huge improvement,I am stoked with the bike, and I already loved it before.

I agree 100%. I have G2 with mildest cam on '06 WR250, money well spent. It makes it easy to control traction in the loose stuff.

Tell me more. Never thought of this before but I'm very cautious with my right hand, a few wrong twists and you can get out of control easy on TE450. Any help with that? Mostly slow speed issues with inadvertent blip of throttle.

Colemanapp: Yes, this is exactly what the G2, with the largest cam, will fix. You still have full power, but it is less jerky at the beginning of the throttle turn. It makes my riding mistakes (many) less severe. Go for it.

Always wondered about that. I think I have good throttle control but my wrecks have shown otherwise. Gonna check one out then. Thanks for the info.

I ran the G2 with the 200/400 cams on my KX250. The 200 for the open desert and 400 for the tight woods. It really helped in the snotty stuff when using the 400. The only issue I had using the 400 was bringing the front end up to get over stuff - it felt like you lost the snap on the low end. But you get used to having to twist a bit more.
