  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

125-200cc Future Parts Availability?

Probably the weakest point will be the blind bearing on the end of the clutch shaft. A little on the small side and any time I have found an issue in these trannies that has been the weakest link. It will make noise long before it grenades so you should have warning. I have tons of parts so if something goes south let me know.

Funny, or maybe not, I think my 165 is making a new noise and can't pin it down. Does sound like maybe bottom end motor noise, but not sure yet.

I can attest, first hand, KTM is finally starting to stock parts. If you need major parts call your dealer and they may have to be shipped from Austria, but you'll be able to get them. I've been told by Hall's that Husky will supply parts for 7 - 10 y/o bikes (depending on the bike?) and newer. So if it's 7 years for the WR, I'm at the end of support with my 2009 WR. But if it's 10 years, then I may consider keeping it for another year or so.

Yeah but 09 wr250 same back to early 2000 late 90s more or less so ya sweet

Edit: meant to say same rite up til 13/14 more or less as well so ya golden

The last year of production was 2014 for your WR 250 so parts should be coming for quite a while. The husky 2 strokes should really never have a problem since a lot of the parts are available aftermarket of on ebay.
