• 2 Stroke Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Italy - About 1989 to 2014
    WR = 2st Enduro & CR = 2st Cross

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

125-200cc Future Parts Availability?

I have had about 4 people tell me that there won't be any parts for the red husky's soon. I made the point that Honda isn't making any parts for my '07 cr 125 anymore either but apparently that's different.. KTM isn't dumping the old husky stock are they? It will be like every other non current model that just keeps eating away at the warehouse supply until it's gone - hopefully not soon. Lol

I wouldn't worry, there's still a lot of people riding Bultaco in vintage motocross. If it's your goal to keep your Husky and ride it for 30 years it is just as possible as everyone riding vintage Huskys and posting on this forum.

True enough, had one dealer tell me to sell it quickly because of the parts end of things, have to talk to him every few years to remember why I don't go there. I have noticed that there are a lot of parts that span quite a few years which is good

they are making them problem is KTM has a number (different all the time) on how many they have on order from dealers before they do a run.

Is that gospel joe? Who's the source of that info? Good to hear if it's true as things like kick starters, airboots/intakes, cylinders/heads, clutch/trannies n even cases seem to be a bit of a concern

That's my experience. They make runs when they have enough orders. I think, that they are still doing this is a pretty significant positive for KTM/Husqvarna.

This is my experience as well, most stuff comes in right away but some parts have taken 6 to 11 months.

It's only a matter of time before we start seeing parts bikes for sale.

At this point I'm on the fence whether I'll keep my CR and keep it going as long as I can, or sell it while I can still get something for it and switch over to an SX150

what's easier is to buy maintenance parts
I bought enough parts to keep my fleet afloat
plastics when they were available
hard parts that you might need
like a race team, spares
i have spares that go back to 85 NOS

I figure if it all goes tits up n I can't get required parts to keep my bikes running(cylinder/gearbox/case halves) ill jus part em out as I'll hav well n truly got my $ worth outta em by then. Cheap purchase price($3-4k cheaper than ktm) makes it easier to swallow. Not panic stations yet tho i don't think

Here you go http://www.swm-motorcycles.it/en/ SWM has bought the Husqvarna factory in Italy and they are making motorcycles with some of the old husky designs
Thought they were only doing the 4Ts? If they are pumping out 2T parts, that's good news. I just waited about a month for two out of 15 parts I ordered from Hall's to get here from Austria. That's after multiple dealers telling me, since February, that you can't get the parts anymore.

Something changed somewhere around June or July and KTM started releasing parts. Some major items like cylinders and heads you just have to wait for, and that's only because no one in the states seems to want to chance stocking them.

Hall's told me that KTM has to keep them available for 7 - 10 years, depending on model, from the model year of your bike. I have an '09 WR and so I figure I'll get few more years out of it. By then I'll be ready for a lighter, e-start bike anyway.

New parts may be tricky, but used will be plentiful as far as motors go. I'm planning on keeping mine for awhile.

I'm still riding and racing the piss outta mine. Keep calm and Moto ON! Brrrraaappp...ding ding da ding da ding.
