  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Fuel range on 2010 TE250?

ScottyR

Husqvarna
AA Class
How far can you go on a stock tank with a 2010 TE250 in a typical enduro setting? I just sold my 10 TC250 with a big tank and am going to ride a TE250 at the Corduroy Enduro this weekend but I am getting nervous that I wont have enough range to make it between gas stops. There is a bit of road sections so I can probably save some fuel by being real easy on the throttle in those sections, but I dont want to run out in the middle of no where.

Thanks
Scotty

I got 25mpg at the last 2 enduros I ran with mine.

About 40 miles till a dry tank.

I carried a small 20 oz fuel bottle to dump in the tank to get 42 miles with gas to spare.

Really depends how hard you are on the throttle and mapping you have. I got between 30 - 35 miles on a tank at race pace (enduro), however Ben Smith (AA rider) got between 25 - 30 on his. Neither one of us has stock mapping. I always carried two 20 oz gatorade bottles with me until I recently got the new IMS tank...have yet to test the mileage on that. But I would think 50 - 55 is do-able on that...

Also each 20 oz bottle got me about 4 - 6 miles more, again at race pace....hope that helps!

Just curious, but why did you change from a 2010 TC to a TE?

Scott,

Topped off with some gas coming out the filler neck when the cap was screwed on this is what I saw

On the second TE 250 we were gaining about 5 miles every hundred and after 400 we were seeing a no thought 30 miles, with 1/2 race and 1/2 timekeeping pushed to the gills @ 40

New I was getting scared at 20 miles... really

Hope it helps

Chow, Carl

Will you ride a new TE250 from your shop? On my '10, the fuel range dramatically improved after a few hundred kms. Went from 65Km/tank as new to close to 90km/tank currently (the bike has 1300km).

I am in the business so everything is for sale I guess. :excuseme:

The TE250 that I am thinking about riding is a demo that has been sitting around my shop. I got some IMS tanks in this week but I am not sure that I can really be bothered putting one on knowing that I am only going to ride it one weekend.

I just had a 2010 WR300 traded in on the weekend. I havent ridden a 2T in a race situation in about 4 yrs but I am sure that I can make it work OK after a couple of sections. I know it will go 65kms on a tank.

I'm all ears how you make out with the WR300 Scott,

Come back and give us a ride report of the bike and the race.

I'm curious to hear your opinion on the  and :thumbsdown of each bike and how they compare to each other. Trail riding vs racing.
