• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

FRETIGNE, VERHOEVEN GOING FOR DESERT SUCCESS IN ABU DHABI
Team Husqvarna Monster Energy Speedbrain will compete in the opening round of the FIM Rally World Championship, the Abu Dhabi Desert Challenge, with riders David Frétigné and Frans Verhoeven.
The team will race as the official Husqvarna factory team with their TE 449 RR, derived from the race bike developed around the BMW G 450 X and the engine of the Husqvarna Enduro TE 449, meaning the experience and development from past events and the Dakar 2011 will be continued with a successful setup.
Klaus Allisat, CEO of Husqvarna Motorcycles: "I am really proud that Husqvarna is entering raid rally motorcycle racing also. This discipline is important to our brand. It is a further clear signal of the integration between Husqvarna and BMW in the sports segment."

saga continues .. bmw bike with Husky decals ... Someone eventually will say it is a Husky engine in that bmw, no engine cradle, frame .... Please correct me if wrong here but if you look right above the foot brake lever, the side case of the engine looks different from the current released versions of that engine ... Is this a sneak preview of the 2012 engine?

2 Husky bikes in this race! U gotta luv the bmw push to date :)

Pretty sure those are GX's. I bet they are running them because there isn't a 449 setup yet for that kind of race? Minor stuff, the frame is what caught my eye first. No hydro clutch, swingarm casting and linkage all match GX pics. At least the colors are right!

UR probably right ... bmw with Husky graphics :) (who's UR real daddy?) ... this gx is someone's baby at bmw and they ain't wanting to let it die ...

Did the gx do well in previous yrs racing in this type of racing?
