  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Free Metzler Karoos if you can pick them up...

I'm putting new tires on my new TE250 today. I have about 150 miles on my old Karoos. Most of that is on the street. Fronts are just scuffed in, rears are very slightly worn. Front is a 90/90-21 and rear is 140/80-18. These worked great on the street and were fine on firm dirt roads. Not great in softer stuff, like the desert.
I figure giving them away is better than paying to recycle them!
You can have them if you can pick them up in Orange County, California. I won't ship them, so don't ask. Just PM me if you can pick them up and want them. I would like a nice six pack of beer in exchange. ;-)

I am so new to this I can't even figure out how to PM you. I am in the area and would like to have the set of tires for my 310. My good friend works at stone brewery so will have no problem bringing you some brew. My name is Andy. Let me know if someone hasn't already took them off of your hands.

Husky310te I just sent you a PM. Check your inbox at the top right of this page.
Anyone else, in case this falls through?

Just put on a set of Scorpion Pro. Haven't ridden them yet but they look good. No one has claimed the tires yet... first to them gets them...

Socalhusky... you have to pull those dealer stickers off your fender. :-) . I got my bike there too but wouldn't give them any free advertising.
