  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

250-500cc Frame Guard WR300 2010 ?

Hurky

Husqvarna
AA Class
Hi Husky riders, I've bought an WR300 from 2010 second hand and it doesn't come with frame guards and I want something to not scrub the paint or steel away with my boots ...

I've searched and only found those ugly steely protectors, but I also found someone mentioning these OEM references:

Those seems to be OEM plastic protectors for the WR125's ... But I cannot find information if these are valid for the WR250/300 too ... possibly they will adapt but I prefer to get it confirmed by someone who actually put those on a WR300 ...

Any other options that are ok and don't cost a fortune ?

Thank you in advance !

The 125 guard wont bolt right up to the 300 because i asked the same question, they're just different. I wasn't able to find any OEM 300 guards or aftermarket for that matter. I'll be keeping an eye on this because I'd be interested in one!

I gave up the ghost on it. Nobody really makes them unless you want to pay $150. So I bought some black flexible piping at lowes for $5. Cut them in half, heat up with heat gun to form fit. Dremel them a little to fit better. Zip tie on.

I looked every where for plastic ones to. Raymond at Hall's told me that the mid 90's 250wr frame guards would work. They are also NO Longer Availabe. He did not know of any others that would work. So I bit the Bullet and forked out $125 with shipping from the UK for these frome Meca System Guards.

Those look like they fit really well. Did you buy directly from Mecca or on ebay? I didn't find a website for Mecca...

Rapid-moto.com has them. It took just a little over a week to get. I'm real happy with fit, although I didn't use a couple of the spacer they sent.
Leaving them out helped keep them tight against the frame.

The WR125 ones (also TXC310 and other models) fit with some modification and some strategic zip-ties. However, you have to be careful to secure them well, or they flop around. I gave up and ripped mine off in the middle of a ride, I'll just wear the paint off my frame.

Thank you for so many answers... Doesn't seem to be a easy solution.. I like the cheap pipe-guards but they don't look as good as some OEM stuff..

Today I was told by as friend that he heard that the OEM plastic protectors from some 450 4t Huskys will adapt pretty well, Will have to investigate a little bit further, Maybe they are the same es the WR125's ones ?
I don't care much to modify them a little bit if necessary...

PS. Today was my first ride on my new Husky and wow, what a bike !

Regards.

Hi again, I'm just investigating about those TE / TC 250/450/510 (2005 to 2007) guards I was told to fit pretty well, here some references and pictures:

Those came from a TC450 2006 part list:

8000 A4394 (L) (~9,51 €)
8000 A4395 (R) (~9,51 €)

What do you think ? Chassis doesn't seem to be very similar...

Seems quite different to me:

(this bold for the chain roller isn't there on the WR's...)

Maybe the right side cover will fit ....

The left side one doesn't look like it will work, but that right side one looks really promising! I am going to order one up and see if it works on my 300.

The left side frame guard from a 310 works pretty good on my bike with a little bit of trimming, so if this one works on the right I'll be in business!
