  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Fork Oil Quantity for 82 430

Puckerbush

Husqvarna
AA Class
Does anyone know the quantity of oil in each leg? These are 40mm with the "Husqvarna" embossed in the side of the fork leg. I think it's an '82 but not sure. Thanks!

Oil quantity is in the mid-400 ml region. But a more useful way is to fill them using the "springs out and forks collapsed" method... and fill them to 6.5" from the top edge of the chrome tube as a starting point. Then extend the front and put the springs back in and button them up!

How much in millimeters, Picklito ?
Thanks

165mm (6.5") from the top of the fork or 450 millilitres oil in each leg. I use 20WT fork oil and use race tech springs as I weigh 104kg and I love the front end to be hard to stop the front diving under heavy braking and when hitting big jumps.

I just filled my 84 wr forks for my 79 wr and filled them with 475 ml in each leg no springs and collapsed .

475ml seems like a lot for the 84 WR, as it has the short under-hang slider. Did you also take a distance measurement?

Picklito, I just got home from work and checked my measurements . The forks are k-2 and there is 3 inches from the center of axle to bottom of tube, 475 ml no springs and collapsed of 15 wt makes mine 8.5 inches from the top , go figure.
