  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

All 2st Fork Oil Level on 45mm Zokes?

2whlrcr

Husqvarna
A Class
I've got an 07 WR250 and am changing the fork oil. I was going to measure it on disassembly, but did some dumb things and did not end up with an accurate measurement.

Anyway the book says 3.15 inches from the top with the tubes collapsed and springs removed. This seems too close to the top of the tubes? Should the oil be that high? Any experience out there?

Thanks

2whlrcr,

Sorry but I have to do this!

Extend the tubes all the way up and fill it to a height 4 inches from the top.

Leave your springs out/cap off and slam your fork into the floor to get the air out. Tell everyone that you just discovered oil in Iowa. Don't get it in your eyes it burns!

You gave me the opportunity to mess with ya!

Are you gonna race that bike this year, or just polish it?

Ptown this weekend again.

I sure am going to try. Looks like I have to travel alot this year. I was hoping not, but my company I work for is buying properties (MI & IN). I don't want to race and get home and have to drive for four to six hours. Been in Sioux City/Kansas City and heading home today.Have to make a Hall's stop on way home.

Yea, travel is a drag. I drive 50K-60K every year for work. No overnights, but on the road everyday for 23 years. It's the reason I don't drive any farther than 3 hours to a race and prefer anything closer.

How is the revalve Gem?
I run mine with 100mm/4" and 5w oil with .44 springs
80mm/3.15 is stock in the manual

The rework is amazing. I would have been happy with a result half as good as what I got. The best money I have ever spent on a bike.

Like I said best mod I've ever done to a bike and that includes all the toys (hydraulic clutch, steering dampner, bigger motor etc) that make it look good in the parking lot.

Yes, he changed the base valve. He also changed the stack and the preload. Like I said very happy with the result.
