    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

fork bleeders for 2008- 2009 TC,TXC?

You realize they have for bleeders stock right? under the little black rubber plug.
 
its become so routine for me now to just reach for a twig pop off the covers and hisssss before the ride.....been doing another thing mentioned from another rider, bleeding after strapping down the bike, then always bleeding (sucking! air back in) before the ride,,to keep the air pressure low during transport with the tie downs cranked down.
 
one of the stock schraeder type bleeder valves is screwd up in a fork.trying to find a way to replace the little valve as the part needed to fix is not identified as an orderable part.dan
 
Dan is looking for the screw in type top o the fork bleeders, I bought a pair of Slavens ,,no fit, I screwed the oem valves out but did not mike the the thread size.
 
I thought I'd drag this topic back up rather than starting with a new one, because we've run into a bit of a problem.

My husband dropped a rubber stopper and after an extensive search, we were unable to locate the little bugger. Has anyone else lost one...and if so, what did you do as a solution? I've called two of our supporting dealers and apparently this is not a part that can be bought! Figures. If anyone has found a workaround, please post it up. :D
 
take the one you have, the o-ring that remains from the other side... and go to a good auto parts store- they should have a box of 10,000 variations of o-rings. They should be able to find you a replacement.

Or buy a new set of bleeders- they always come with new orings. Quick bleeders are nice.
 
Can you get bleeders for the 09s? I asked a couple of shops and they said no. If you know of some bleeders that work on the 09 TXC with the built-in valves...please let me know!

The thing that blocks the bleeder now is more of a solid rubber plug.
 
I believe the TXC/TC 50mm dual cartridge forks Marzacchis are totally unique in this reguard. I am not familiar with that set up. BUT it appears you have some kind of "speed bleeder" that is flush with the cap as the stock oem part. I would just order the stock OEM ones in that case. There is not a part # in the parts manual for these- BUT a dealer should be able to get them for you. Call Halls:thumbsup:

I called Halls and Motoxotica and they both said they can't get them and both said they had tried to get some directly from Marzocchi with no luck. Maybe I can find something at the hardware store.

He can drill and tap the caps to accomodate any bleeder- depending on what is there for a hole now. Might be worth it for you in this circumstance. He probably knows of the issue and solution already- Definately worth calling him:thumbsup:
 
also if you just lost what sounds like a ruber cover over the schrader valve so junk doesn't get in there and its otherwise functional- and you can't find a new rubber cover or buy the stock replacement, and don't want something retrofitted..... maybe just put a small piece of black gorrilla tape (duct tape) over it. (not pretty... but is easy)
