• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Foot peg relocator

Footpeg Relocators

So Husky666 did you end up producing more of those footpeg relocators?
That looks to be just what I need for my 610. Bought a brand new pair
of Alpinestar boots but I can't shift with them. You would think they would
look at this issue when they designed that shift lever. If anyone knows
where to get an aftermarket or any type of shifter that works better than
the stock one please post. If you're taking orders on your peg bracket,
Husky666, I would gladly purchase one from you.

A longer shift lever does not solve the problem,I tried. If you look close you will notice that if the shifter were to be longer it would stick out to far away from the case. That would cause more interference for your boot and you would need to kick your toe out while you ride. There simply is not the proper clearance between them so that is why I moved the peg back.PM sent

Those Brackets Are Well Worth The Cash

Nice brackets. Anyone thinking they can do their own pair in a weekend are going to find out the hard way, no can do.

Good going 666.

Got em' mounted on today. They went on perfectly. Very well designed.
I'll put them to the real test tomorrow when I go riding off road. I still have the
450 pegs on but I'm going to put the stock pegs back on for the ride in the dirt.
I'm very happy with the new bracket, great job Husky666.

Quick question about the mounting of these plates - are you able to find 8mm flat-head bolts in a 10.9 or 12.9 grade?

The flat head bolts are 12.9 grade.

I have now put a few miles on with the pegs in the designed position. Although I dont have big feet, moving the pags straight back still helps me to move around, especially when trying to stand while accelerating. It is just enough to make a big difference.

When I had them upside down it was quite a distance to the brake pedal for a guy with size 10 feet. In regular position it is easier to use the rear brake.

I know this is a much delayed response but I did take a measurement
of the 450 peg and it was definitely less than 5" as you predicted. So I
was going to put the stock peg back on but thought I would see how the
Fastway peg measured. Oddly enough the Fastway peg measured 5" despite the fact that it's wider than the 450 and stock pegs. So that
worked out even better than I thought in regards to shifting with
riding boots. :cheers::thumbsup: Jerry

No,it's only a 1/2". All it does is make the bike feel more comfortable and easier to shift.I think that is part of the reason the 610 trans feels so stubborn.

I am in Australia and it only took a few days for mine to arrive - I am VERY impressed at the quality of components - even has 'L' and 'R' stamped on the plates for the intellectually challenged.

Easy to install - just did it in the garage just now - just needs 1 minute work with an angle grinder on the stock bracket on the rear brake side so the new bracket doesnt interfere with the brake pedal pivot - all explained by Husky666 prior to purchase.

Its late at night here so havnt ridden on them - but you can tell there gonna be great!

I put a post on ADVrider.com in response to someone that made there own - to get people to look at your solution.

I'm interested, too, but can't find any button or option or whatever for sending a private message. Weird...

ETA: ok, apparently needed some moderator approval first...
