  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Can't view the attachment, so can't tell if it is just a standard screw or not. If it is, just go to a hardware store and buy a replacement.

That's nothing but a metric shoulder bolt. Take one out of the other holes and go to a fastener supplier and they likely have something you can use.

The drawing are not really representative of the real screw ... this look like husky propriety designed screw... no choice, have to deal with the dealer.

hall' do not have it in stock ... I did try it :(

that why I'm asking if someone have one spare screw !!??

Never put the wrong bolt in that hole, I learned that the hard way. I lost one during a ride and shoved too long of a bolt in there and cracked the cam bearing race. I wound up getting a new bolt (and cam bearing) from MotoXotica.

<<Seriously? Now I have to be worried about the valve cover bolts falling out while I'm riding? >>

Yes Sir ! ... all of the screws on your bike !!!

To Hammer : If you have this screw , let me know ASAP ... My bike is park at the dealer for the last 9 weeks
I was not putting pressure on my dealers ... it was winter time (up north) but now the snow as melted ... and I need my husky

I just receive a phone call form my dealer ... I will have my missing screw on Thursday !!! husky just confirm that this pieces is not anymore BO. YEAH ! :)

thank you everyone !

Seriously? Now I have to be worried about the valve cover bolts falling out while I'm riding? These guys chintz out on the grease and loctite then get all "holier than thou" with BMW and SP about going out of business. Perhaps the time to have the pride was when you were assembling them, not now.
This is a technical discussion. I would appreciate it if you could save this type of post for the buy out threads.

Years from now people will be seeking technical information and will not want to read about the buy out.
